In this sewing and fashion design workshop with Miss Libby Rose - you will learn techniques on how to take a pattern from an existing dress, re-design bits of the dress (if need be for ease of construction) and we will cut the pattern so you can re-make it in a fabric of your choice.Childrens' Clothing is also a great idea for this workshop. Children grow so quickly and childrens clothing can be so expensive - so why not make your own? Bring along a 'dress that works' well for your child and we can take a pattern from it.Miss Libby Rose can show you techniques to lengthen and expand the pattern as your child grows!
Please note: In the course of the evening you may only have time to create the pattern and discuss the making process - Please note that time may not permit you to finish making the whole garment (esspecialy if you bring a complex design) We do offer our Monthly Monday evening drop - in sessions that you can use to carry on with the making of your garment - or if you require more tuition simply book onto another of these 'A Few of My Favourite Things' classes. Skills taught by instructor Miss Libby Rose - rub-off, trace-off methods, - using fashion design measurements, - following the grainlines and separating the garment without taking it apart - looking at the stitch lines and tracing the pattern shapes on to paper
- Seam allowances to create a pattern. - Construction methods and details are looked at but may not get to the actual making in one session - although skills and techniques will be discussed.
